ProbiDAO® is a food for special medical purposes that is used in the dietary management of DAO deficiency in case of digestive symptoms, or for maintaining the digestive health.

The Diamine Oxidase (DAO) content in ProbiDAO® serves as a supplement to the enzyme found in the body, which is in charge of metabolizing histamine. Taking one capsule of ProbiDAO® before each meal increases the amount of DAO in the small intestine and therefore also boosts histamine degradation. This accelerates the processing of the histamine found in different foods.

How should ProbiDAO® be used?

Take 1 capsule with a small glass of water twenty to thirty minutes before meals. The content of the caspule should not be chewed and the capsule should be swallowed whole. If you cannot swallow it whole, you can open it and ingest its content with liquid, without chewing.

What size packets does ProbiDAO® come in?

ProbiDAO® is available in packets 30 and 60 gastro-resistant capsules with pellets.

Important observations:

ProbiDAO® cannot replace a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, nor can it serve as the sole nutritional source. Alcohol and drugs can greatly inhibit the action of the Diamine Oxidase enzyme (DAO). Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place.

What does ProbiDAO® do?

Histamine is a vital molecule found in all foods in our daily diet and mediates many biological processes such as inflammation, gastric acid secretion, neuromodulation and regulation of the immune function.

Under normal circumstances, ingested histamine is degraded by the Diamine Oxidase enzyme (DAO) in the small intestine.

The Problem

If the DAO enzyme is reduced, the ingested histamine cannot be degraded and trespasses the intestinal mucosa into the blood stream, causing the onset of migraine and other types of headache.

The Solution

ProbiDAO® provides the necessary exogenous ingestion of DAO to re-establish the metabolism of histamine, allowing the dietary management of the symptoms.

What does ProbiDAO® contain?

ProbiDAO® 60 gastro-resistant capsules with pellets.
ProbiDAO® 30 gastro-resistant capsules with pellets.

INFORMATION ABOUT DAO DEFICIENCY

Histamine in food

In addition to foods rich in histamine, high intakes of foods rich in other amines such as putrescine, cadaverine, b-phenylethylamine, tryptamine, serotonin, tyramine and agmatine can also lead

Diagnosis of DAO Deficiency

There are two ways in which the diagnosis can be made: the molecular genetic study of Diamine Oxidase (DAO) activity (AOC1-V) and/or the in vitro diagnostic test measuring

Origin of DAO deficiency

The main reason for enzyme dysfunction has a genetic origin.

This justifies the recent belief that chronic pathologies such as migraine are hereditary, when in fact the hereditary factor
